Naveen Pai

Naveen Pai is of counsel in Gunderson Dettmer's Silicon Valley office and serves as the firm's Chief Knowledge Officer. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2009. As Chief Knowledge Officer, he is responsible for the firm's efforts to design and implement processes that use data and technology to support client service.

According to the firm, Pai has extensive experience representing startup and emerging growth technology companies, counseling founders and executives on legal and business issues from formation through exit. He also works with venture capital firms and angel investors that invest in such companies in the United States and internationally. His focus areas at the firm include corporate governance and strategy, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, fund investments in companies, and seed, venture, and growth financings.

Pai was previously a senior associate at Gunderson Dettmer. Before beginning his legal career, he held software development roles at companies ranging from formation-stage startups to public companies. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and holds an M.S. in environmental engineering and a B.S. in computer science, both from Stanford University. He has been quoted in coverage of Bloomberg Law's acquisition of Dashboard Legal.
