Esau Herrera

Esau Ruiz Herrera is an attorney in San Jose, California, with a practice spanning criminal defense, education law, and personal injury. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 1976, he has practiced law for decades from his office on Berryessa Road in San Jose. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University in 1972 and attended Santa Clara University School of Law.

Alongside his legal practice, Herrera has an extensive background in education governance. He is a former school board trustee and has served as past president of the California Latino School Boards Association and past vice president of the Hispanic Caucus of the National School Boards Association.

Herrera has also taught as an adjunct professor of law and education at Sacramento State University and served as director of the Latino Role Model Conference in San Jose. Outside his professional work, he has officiated boys' and girls' varsity high school basketball. He remains an active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
