Scott A. Sugarman

Scott A. Sugarman was admitted to the California Bar in 1976 and remains an active licensee ^[1]. He is a partner at Sugarman & Cannon in San Francisco, where his practice is devoted to criminal defense ^[2]. He has been a partner at the firm since 1989 and earlier served as an Assistant Public Defender in Alameda County and as a supervising research attorney for the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court ^[2]. Sugarman earned his Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School in 1975 and a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction from the University of Rochester in 1972 ^[1]. He is a past president of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
