Nassim Mahzoon is a partner at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP and leads the firm's Santa Clara office, which serves technology employers across Silicon Valley. She has practiced business immigration since 2008, advising startups, midsize companies, and multinational corporations on the full spectrum of employment-based immigration.

Her work covers temporary work visas such as H-1B, L-1, and O-1 petitions; consular processing for nonimmigrant and immigrant visas; PERM labor certification; and employment-based green card sponsorship. She also counsels employers on I-9 compliance and worksite enforcement risk. Before joining BAL, Mahzoon practiced at a boutique Los Angeles firm handling a broader mix of immigration, business, and criminal matters, and volunteered with the San Francisco Public Defender's Office and the American Civil Liberties Union on immigrant rights issues.

She earned her J.D. from Whittier Law School in 2007 and her B.A. in Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Mahzoon is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for Northern California immigration in 2021 and to the Lawyers of Color Power List in 2023. She is admitted to practice in California (Bar No. 257607) and speaks English and Farsi.
