A. Lavar Taylor

Alvah Lavar Taylor, who practices as A. Lavar Taylor, was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1987 and holds an active license (State Bar No. 129512).^[1]

He is the founder of Taylor Nelson Amitrano LLP, a tax controversy firm in Irvine. Taylor has spent more than three decades handling civil and criminal tax disputes with the IRS and California taxing agencies.^[2]

His litigation practice covers matters in U.S. District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Claims, the U.S. Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He also handles administrative disputes with the IRS, including audits, collection matters, criminal investigations, hearings before the IRS Office of Appeals, and Collection Due Process appeals.^[2]

Taylor provides witness testimony on tax issues in litigation between private parties and has served as Tax Counsel to the firm of Shulman, Hodges & Bastian. The firm handles tax disputes at the administrative level and in trial and appellate courts, advising clients on when to litigate and when to settle.^[2]
