Merrianne Elizabeth Dean was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1994, holds an active license, Bar Number 174956, and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law through the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization [1]. She earned her law degree at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego [1]. Dean is the founder of Bellator Law Group, APC, a San Diego firm whose roots trace to 1997, when three women merged their individual practices; the firm handles estate planning, probate and trust administration, conservatorships, will contests and trust disputes, and financial elder abuse matters [2]. She brings nearly three decades of probate court experience to the practice and mentors newer attorneys in the field [2]. Dean previously served as principal of The Dean Law Group, APLC and as a partner at Rosenstein, Wilson and Dean, PLC, and she holds the Accredited Estate Planner designation. She is a member of the California Lawyers Association and its Trusts and Estates Section [1]. Her honors include the Fay Stender Award from California Women Lawyers in 2019 and an Outstanding Service Award recognizing her work with the San Diego Superior Court's probate court and probate bar in 2012.
