Mark Carroll Mazzarella was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1978 and holds an active license (bar #82494); his State Bar record lists self-reported practice areas that include litigation, real estate, eminent domain, commercial law, and professional liability [1]. He practices with Mazzarella Law APC in San Diego, a litigation firm whose attorneys have tried more than 125 cases to conclusion before judges, juries, and arbitrators in venues from San Diego to Washington, D.C., and which reports more than $300 million recovered for plaintiffs in judgments and settlements [2]. Mazzarella has personally tried more than 85 cases over his career. He is a past chair of the Litigation Section of the California State Bar and a two-term past president of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers-San Diego, and in 2007 he was one of three San Diego attorneys appointed to serve as lawyer representatives to the Judicial Conference of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In 1992-1993 he was the principal draftsman of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers' Guidelines for Ethics, Civility and Professionalism. In 2019 he was named one of America's Top 100 High Stakes Litigation Attorneys [2]. He studied law at the UCLA School of Law [1] and is the author of the book Reading People (Random House, 1998).
