Thomas Rist

Thomas Anthony Rist was admitted to the State Bar of California on November 22, 2005, and holds an active license under bar number 238090 ^[1]. He is the founding attorney of Rist Law Office, LC, a San Diego practice concentrating on personal injury and crime victim cases ^[2]. Rist started the firm in 2008 after earlier work as an assistant prosecuting attorney and as an insurance defense lawyer, and the office has since grown to two locations that have served thousands of clients. His caseload has included car accident fatalities, spine injury cases, mining accidents, employment class actions, and civil claims on behalf of minor children who were victims of crime. He has tried more than 100 cases to a final verdict in state and federal courts, in both civil and criminal matters, and reports results that include a $2,250,000 recovery in a wrongful death case arising from a mine explosion and a $4,300,000 recovery in a wage-and-hour dispute on behalf of employees of a large California corporation ^[2]. His practice includes crime victim litigation involving child sexual assault, police sexual assault, and fraud cases. Rist earned his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law in 2002. He has also appeared as counsel in federal civil litigation, including cases filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California ^[3].
