Monica Justine Burneikis is the founder and lead trial counsel of Burneikis Law, P.C., a personal injury firm located on Franklin Street in downtown Oakland, California. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005 and is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California.[1][2]
Burneikis was born in San Jose, California, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Jose State University in 2001. She attended Santa Clara University School of Law on a Dean's Fellowship Scholarship and earned her Juris Doctor in 2005. She began her career at Sheuerman, Martini & Tabari, a medical malpractice defense firm in San Jose, before moving to Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel in 2007, where she practiced plaintiffs' personal injury law. In 2012 she joined the San Francisco personal injury firm Meisel & Krentsa, becoming a named partner at Meisel, Krentsa & Burneikis in 2015.[2]
In 2020, Burneikis opened her own practice, Burneikis Law, P.C. The firm handles personal injury matters throughout California, including car, pedestrian, bicycle, motorcycle, bus, and truck accidents, rideshare cases, traumatic brain injury, and wrongful death, as well as claims against public agencies under the California Government Claims Act. The firm reports more than $40 million recovered for clients and offers services in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.[2]
Burneikis was named to the Northern California Super Lawyers list in 2020 and to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2014 through 2018. In 2019 she was selected by The National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 National Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers, and in 2018 she was a finalist for the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association's Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. She was granted lifetime membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2014.[2]
