Michael Rott

Michael Ian Rott was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 10, 1993, and holds an active license under bar number 169468 ^[1]. He is the managing partner of Hiden, Rott & Oertle, LLP in San Diego, where his caseload is devoted primarily to workers' compensation matters along with personal injury claims ^[2]. The firm reports more than 30 years handling workers' compensation and personal injury cases across Southern California, including more than 40 workers' compensation cases resolved above $1 million ^[2]. Outside the firm's core docket, Rott has served as general counsel to the San Diego Riptide, a former AF2 arena football team, and as legal counsel to Major League Baseball teams and to NFL players in third-party actions and workers' compensation claims. He has also acted as class counsel in consumer class actions, including service on an executive committee in multi-district litigation against Apple, Inc., and has been interviewed by ABC News and NBC News on those matters. He is a member of the California Lawyers Association and its Workers' Compensation Law Section. Rott earned his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 1992 and a B.S. from the University of Arizona in 1987.
