Don Ernst

Don Alan Ernst was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 16, 1975, and holds an active license (Bar No. 65726) ^[1]. He leads Ernst Law Group, a San Luis Obispo plaintiffs' firm that represents individuals in personal injury and wrongful death cases against corporations and insurers ^[2].

Over a career of more than four decades, Ernst's cases have included claims against major automakers, oil companies, and insurance carriers. Before his current firm, he was a founding partner of Ernst and Mattison, where he practiced from 1980 to 2012. He served as president of the Consumer Attorneys of California in 2008 and was the first president of the Central Coast Trial Lawyers Association, serving from 1991 to 1992. He has also been a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and has written on tort and insurance litigation, including for the California Bar Journal.

Ernst earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1975 ^[1] and his bachelor's degree from Stanford in 1971.
