David Vaughn

David Patrick Vaughn was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 23, 1987, and holds an active license (#132689) ^[1]. He earned his J.D. at UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, and a B.A. with honors from UC Berkeley ^[2]. He practices at Vaughn Law Offices in downtown Los Angeles, and his State Bar self-reported practice areas are criminal law, white collar crime, and entertainment and sports ^[1].

Vaughn is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, a former Deputy District Attorney, and former counsel to a United States Congressional subcommittee ^[2]. He also served as Managing Director of Global Risk and Investigations at FTI Consulting, where he worked on more than 100 federal, state, university, and internal investigations nationwide, including the Madoff and Stanford Ponzi scheme investigations ^[2]. His practice concentrates on white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations, grand jury proceedings, and NCAA enforcement matters, including independent counsel work for employees and executives whose interests may diverge from their employer's ^[2].
