Benjamin R. Heston

Benjamin Richard Heston was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2014 and holds an active license under bar number 297798.^[1] He has since been admitted to the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California.^[2]

Heston founded Nexus Bankruptcy in 2022 and represents clients from Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties from offices in Costa Mesa and Irvine.^[2] His practice concentrates on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy, along with related matters such as non-dischargeability adversary proceedings, student loan discharge analysis, defense against trustee recovery actions, and bankruptcy appeals.^[2]

Heston earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Irvine in 2009 and his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in 2013.^[2] He was certified as a consumer bankruptcy law specialist by the American Board of Certification from 2021 to 2025.^[3]

He has served as vice president of the Riverside County Barristers Association and has been a member of the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum, the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.^[2] He has lectured on bankruptcy topics for the Peter M. Elliott Inn of Court, the Riverside County Barristers Association, and the San Bernardino County Bar Association, and volunteers through the Public Law Center and the Riverside Public Service Law Corporation.^[2]
