Eric Lancaster

Eric Lancaster is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice at Paul Hastings LLP, based in the firm's Palo Alto office. He represents technology and pharmaceutical companies in litigation matters across the country in district courts, the International Trade Commission, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and state courts. His litigation experience covers intellectual property and antitrust matters spanning sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, social networking, mobile devices, semiconductors, LCDs, and computer hardware, and he has served as lead counsel in multiple litigation matters.

In addition to litigation, Lancaster provides strategic and commercial advice to multinational companies and, according to the firm, has significant experience with IP and commercial due diligence investigations in the context of corporate transactions. His representations have included defending Anthem against the U.S. Department of Justice's lawsuit to block its $54.2 billion agreement to acquire Cigna Corporation, representing DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Deluxe Entertainment, and Hydraulx in patent litigation involving computer graphics software, and representing pharmaceutical companies in BPCIA and reverse-payment antitrust matters.

Lancaster is an adjunct professor at Berkeley Law School, where he teaches Antitrust and Innovation, and serves in a leadership role on the Silicon Valley Urban Debate League's Legal Advisory Committee. He earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2006 and his B.A.S. from the University of California, Davis, in 2002. He is admitted to the California Bar.
